The Sapphire FTP Utility comes with a demo project that shows how to connect to a remote FTP server and send and receive files. The demo also shows how to use FTP to synchronise a local directory with a remote directory in a similar manner to ActiveSync. The demo is downloadable from www.sapphire-solutions.co.uk and contains both the eMbedded Visual Basic 3.0 and Visual Basic .NET project files.
